In the recent update of the meeting between the Exco last Sunday, they have come to a consensus on the projects we are going to undertake this period of time.
The March Retreat
15 - 17 March 2006
Fairy Point Chalet 2, Changi.
Now now, all leaders and co leaders as well as VC are supposed to attend this 3 days 2 nights Dharma retreat.
Reason? - Very simple, it is to strengthen our spiritual training as well as to solidify our dharma knowledge. To all leaders and co-leaders: This is compulsory and you HAVE TO COME!
For those who are unable to make it, please call me PERSONALLY to tell me the reason.
Reasons like: Friend's chalet, my friend's friend's birthday, Need to sleep are unacceptable reasons.(i will personally slap u..)
Acceptable reasons: Overseas trip with family, remedial at certain times (the other free slots will be back at retreat camp).
Rest of house members are invited to join in. But an advice, as thisis a stricter and more solemn training camp for all chose leaders of SBMY, you must be prepared to undergo intensive Dharma and Meditation training.
Leaders include: Weijie, Ernest, Coli, Mabel, Bertina, Fiona, Yongting, Shihui.

Its always good to do meritorious deeds that helps the society. In SBMY, its no different. we have lotsa social activties, but, we must do more community service. And the Exco has decided to hand the project to Kaiyi to coordinate iwth RenCi Hospital (near Buangkok Green), with House of Ananda as the main organizing committee.

Supporting Leaders: Coli, Mabel, Fiona, Yongting, Bertina
Weijie and Fiona did a great job for the Chinese New Year visiting project and kudos to them for making it a success.
This time, my direction is to let everyone try a hand at organising projects, big scale ones. So for the rotation, Ernest and Shihui will be spearheading this wonderful community service projects. I have listed the people involved and you are important. Don't run away! haha.
I will be on hand to give the 2 advices and also to help run, however i will also be one of the main committee members for Vesak@Orchard, so it will br tough on me this period. Would need you guys to support Nest and Hui on this project. Ernest is supposed to contact with Kaiyi and get the information on what RenCi wants us to do.
Nest and Hui are supposed to call for meetings and discussions to plan the program according to the requirements set by Kaiyi and after dicsussions with the above mentioned involved, Kaiyi is the one supposed to approve the project. Of course, let me know abit here and there.
Deadline for Submission of Proposal : 1 March 2006
Some things to include in meetings and discussions.
-Program for the day (timetable, performances if allowed like singing)
-Logistics?
-Code of Conduct?
- Host for the project and on the bus
- Things to prepare?
- Budget?
So Nest and Hui, u can start conversing with one another on this project le.
ORCHARD ROAD VESAK CELEBRATIONS!

What else can be said about this project? its the biggest thing happening in Singapore!
This year, our WHOLE SBMY contingent will be in the MOAT team like last year will have to do a series of dances and cheerleading along the road!
Well, the details are this.

Dance Team Choreographers / Trainers: Alvin, ShiXiong, Zhenfeng, Lawrence,Zeyan, Pearly, Clorine and Jiayi.
Houses to support and be in-charge of booth as well as subsidiary stuff (banners, placards, makeup, etc)
ANANDA & KASSAPA
I/C from Ananda: Zhenglin, Shihui (Chief IC) , Coli, Weijie
Attenadnces I/C: Yongting, Bertina
Supporting Group: Fiona, Shihui,Ernest,Weijie, Ivan, Jason, Shufang, Denise, Shiyun
Now, the whole house will be learning the dance steps of the MOAT team from me once we have choreographed the dance steps. So attendance is the most important here. To let everybody learn the dance steps well, we need to have our own house dance trainings as well as combined house trainings. This is like CHINGAY and i really hope that u guys will commit yourselves to this. Remember, with enthusiasm , the fire will never cease.
This dance is good and it will be JJ LIN's - BIANHAO 89757.
For cheerleading, it will be BLACK EYED PEAS' - LETS GET IT STARTED!
So for Yongting and Bertina, you guys will have to check attendances and report back to Zhenglin whenever we have dance trainings (dates we will inform u later)
For the I/Cs from Ananda,
Mabel and gang will have to liaise with Kassapa leaders to decide who to prepare what for VESAK@ORCHARD. once me and CLorine(Capt for Kassapa) have gotten the information, i will pass to Weijie and Mabel, and they will pass down instructions for all to help. Remember: this project cannot fall. and fail. so i need everyone to cooperate to make it successful, esp the important Attendance ICs, YT and Tina.
Leaders must now start to call the members involved: Jason, Ivan, Shiyun, Denise, Shufang to get them interested. I MEAN NOW!!

Guys, i understand it will be really tough on you guys as some of you will have to take on some really important projects this first half of the year. I am keeping to my promise to let you guys have a taste of leading the organizing and really letting you have a chance to show your worth. Don't disappoint yourself, and really rise up to the occasion to make sure it happens and succeeds!
TO VC Zhenglin - make sure u monitor every single movement for these projects and keep track of it. I will always be there should u need advices and people to come in.
To SLUT Team - Weijie and NEST, this period of time would need you to bring out the enthusiasm and fire in you to influence ANANDA! you can!
To Usual 5 and Hui - U girls are currently the most talented young girl group. Don't let emotions affect you, and like i guranteed, the projects are there for you to perform! make sure u do , and make sure u bond together even closer girls!!
To members - Pls come! we want you!!
